With roots dating back to 1874 , the Bourbon-Lancy production site is today a plant of approximately 1,200 employees offering the highest levels of quality and productivity . Producing the industry-renowned heavy-duty GN engine range since 1997 , the plant achieved World Class Manufacturing Gold status in 2021, the highest possible classification for operational excellence . In 2022, it was integrated into the DOT (Driving Operations Together) program, a results-driven program that aims to optimize operations worldwide. The program ensures high levels of safety and quality, improving the brand’s overall operations, helping to achieve targets and inspiring a new culture of excellence. The Bourbon-Lancy production site became one of the program’s first “Advanced Mentor”
plants. The facility is also known for its commitment to sustainable development by minimizing the impact of its industrial activities and protecting the biodiversity of the surrounding environment. It is therefore the ideal place to accommodate the most efficient natural gas engines in the industry.
The 100,000th NG engine is an XCURSOR 13 NG model for the truck market. This single-base flex-fuel engine offers best-in-class power, torque and braking power . In addition, the XCURSOR 13 NG (launched in 2024) offers an 8% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the previous generation 13-litre engine, as well as high reliability and a service life of up to 1,200,000 km. The engine was developed using the WPI (Workplace Integration) approach to ensure product quality. Since the introduction of the Cursor NG family in 2004, the plant has produced more than 45,000 engines (8-9-13-litre models).
Vincent Barbosa, Director of the Bourbon-Lancy production site, said: "This monumental milestone is the result of the combination of many factors: industry-leading engine design to meet market demand, production engineering excellence to facilitate efficient construction, and the commitment of our motivated workforce to meet production schedules and maintain customer satisfaction. Together, these strengths demonstrate that we can achieve impressive goals to meet the industry's needs for low-impact powertrains."
Natural gas is one of the many alternative propulsion technologies offered by FPT Industrial . This environmentally friendly fuel reduces pollutants and significantly improves air quality, while mitigating global warming through reduced CO2 emissions. These ecological benefits are complemented by the incredibly efficient noise reduction and impressive fuel economy associated with multi-point stoichiometric combustion technology.
FPT Industrial offers the widest range of NG engines available on the market today, with solutions ranging from 136 to 520 hp for light, medium and heavy vehicles in the on-road segment, and from 100 to 266 hp for off-road equipment.
